Elizabeth Deluca

President

Elizabeth Deluca grew up enjoying the carbohydrate-rich foods of her native Cuba. Sunday mornings consisted of church then a Latin rich luncheon enjoyed by family and friends which was delicious but calorie dense. Then one day, at an age when other kids are still feeding quarters into snack machines, Elizabeth made a conscious decision to change her diet and implement a healthy lifestyle. Today, she’s one of the most sought after leaders in corporate wellness & fitness in the Northeast and owner of FitWell Group, LLC, a fitness & wellness consulting management company based in Stamford, CT.
After graduating Marymount College with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and minor in Biology, Elizabeth worked for IBM T.J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights in the Environmental Laboratories Department. Honing in on her research skills and analytic analysis, she continued to explore the difference sciences. Still enjoying her research at IBM, she knew that ultimately her passion was to help people become healthier and stronger.

Imbued with her father’s entrepreneurial spirit, she incorporated FitWell Group while beginning her graduate studies in the health sciences. Elizabeth wanted to create high-quality nutrition and exercise programs geared to corporations based on strong research and data. If you can make employees healthier, you make their families healthier and make a positive impact in the community. Just two years later, she had 22 employees and a roster of consultants, serving clients such as Merrill Lynch, Elizabeth Arden and Citigroup as well as other corporations, country clubs, institutions and private clients in Fairfield and Westchester counties.

After completing her Master’s in Public Health at New York Medical College, Valhalla, NY, Elizabeth
Doctorate of Public Health (Dr.P.H.) program in order to take her dream to the next level. “Once I started working, I knew I wanted to do more,” she says. “The Dr.P.H. at New York Medical College is the only program in the Northeast that pays so much attention to the social determinants of health. Economic and social conditions are crucial to the health of everyone, and we all need to be more aware of their impact. Having a Doctorate in Public health, especially the way health care is constantly changing, is a tool that Elizabeth used every day.

Elizabeth is involved with everything from conceptual site designs, master planning and programming to instruction, management, and marketing. She also develops dynamic transitional programs to help ease reluctant employees into safe and effective practices that will help them achieve good health. Elizabeth is also asked to speak at corporate wellness events and is a Master Trainer for Group Fitness & Wellness Classes.

Even with her busy schedule, Elizabeth finds time to volunteer for the local Young Women’s League, helping with community and children’s issues. She’s also involved in the Boys and Girls Club and is a sponsor of an annual 5K run. Elizabeth serves as a Planning and Zoning Commissioner of her hometown in New Canaan, CT. In addition, Elizabeth serves on the Conservation Commission and the P&Z Telecommunication Commission.

As her career vision grows, Elizabeth isn’t content to confine her goals to the corporate setting. She’s ready to take on the nation and the world. While she values her impact on companies and their employees, she wants to contribute to improving the health of the entire population. “I hope that by helping employees become healthier, they’ll go home and share this information with their
families,” she says. “But I want to help as many people as possible make good health a priority, creating a lifestyle with better eating and exercise habits. My ultimate goal is to partner with the new presidential administration. Once the White House meets FitWell Group, together we can make America a healthier place.”
